How long do hybrid lashes stay on?

How long does it take to apply eyelash extensions? Applying a full set of lashes lasts approximately two hours and can be maintained throughout the year, with recommended retouching every three to four weeks. A half set of lashes is an economical alternative for achieving an equally dramatic effect, as it is applied as a filler to thicken natural lashes or applied outward to the eye for a specialized look. With immediate results, hybrid eyelash extensions can last up to 8 weeks, but with regular fillers, every 2 or 3 weeks, they can last longer. In that case, avoid waterproof formulas at all costs, experts say they are much harder to remove and that all those pulls are bad news for the lifespan of eyelash extensions.

A certified and licensed eyelash expert will customize each set of eyelash extensions for each individual client, using between three and five different lengths and up to two different curvatures, Richardson says. This will give the illusion of spikes, since these fans will fly out of the set while the eyelashes that surround them are shorter. With this type of extension, your eyelash artist will apply 2 to 6 ultra-light lashes to each of your natural lashes. If your client is ordering a natural or faint looking set, you'll want to opt for a higher percentage of lashes with classic eyelash extensions, rather than if your client wants a dense or dramatic set of lashes, you'll want to opt for those volume lashes more often.

Some eyelash artists make a small kit with a brush, an eyelash bath and a card with aftercare instructions, while others simply give their customers a card with aftercare instructions. There is little or no difference between hybrid, volume and classic applications, other than deciding where to place the fans compared to classic extensions.

extensions are expensive and require maintenance, but they give the eyes a natural volume that makes mascara unnecessary. Next, I'll go over some of the most requested hybrid tab mapping styles and the application difference with each one.

Everyone has different eyelashes and, depending on the condition of your natural eyelashes, eyelash experts can only have a certain length or thickness. To help you understand the thickness of an eyelash extension that you should choose with your specific client, I've created a chart (below) that allows you to choose the perfect classic eyelash thickness and then turn it into the ideal fan thickness for the number of lashes you want to use per fan. A different method of application is used than more traditional eyelash extensions, so you should expect that voluminous eyelashes take longer to apply and cost more. That's much easier said than done, but if you're a chronic eye fanatic, you have to quit your habit if you want to continue using eyelash extensions.

If you decide to go with the latter option, be sure to use a smaller fan, such as the 0.03 mm GladGirl Signature Mink eyelashes.
